OVERVIEW
This early beuty has very limited LFO/VCO
controls, but the extensive performance
controls can really do a lot to the 30
presets. Manually controlable are:
aftertouch effects, portamento and VFC.
Despite the ugly preset-tabs, I can't help
liking this little synth (I want one).
OSCILLATORS
Presets are: Wind, Growl Wow, Funny Cat,
Frog Man, Planet, Space Reed, Popcorn,
Song Wistle, Singing Voice, Xylophone,
Vibraphone, Accordion, Harpsichord,
Piano, Fuzz Guitar 1 & 2, Banjo, Hawaiian
Guitar, Bass Guitar, Violin, Cello, Clarinet,
Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone,
Trumpet , French Horn, Trombone, Tuba.
MODULATION
There is one LFO, with a slider for rate
control. No selectable waveforms or delay
though.
MIXER
No mixer on this one.
FILTER
The preset filter settings can be over-rided
by switching to manual control. There are
sliders for moulation amount, cut-off freq.
and reconance.
ENVENLOPES
No ordinary ADSR envelope, but a
long-decay switch, a hold switch and a
repeat switch. The repeat switch retriggers
the note with the LFO. The presets all have
individual envenlope settings.
AFTERTOUCH
The SH-2000 is the only SH-synth to have
aftertouch, and its powerful too. A knob
adjusts the sensitivity and five switches
selects what the aftertouch should affect.
Volume, wow, growl, vibrato, and pitch (up
or down) are the five options, and can be
used in any combination.
OTHER
The SH-2000 has portamento controls, a
time slider and a three-way switch (on, off,
and "slow"). The slow option is simply a
slower variant - simple but highly usable.
On the control panel are also to be found:
a tuning knob, a master volume slider, a
transpose switch (L, N, H) and a "ramdom
note" switch (auto, key, off).
