"Driving the synthesizer is like playing the guitar"
GR-300 is a new type of
polyphonic guitar synthesizer, different from an ordinary guitar
synthesizer.
It can be used to syn thesize as easily as playing an ordinary
electric guitar.
First of all, it has an outstanding express ing ability, being
able to reproduce
the subtleness of the guitar sound which cannot be obtained by
a keyboard
synthesizer. Secondly, it is equipped with HEXA VC0 and HEXA
distortion circuits which means a clean distortion can be obtained,
like
GR-100, Furthermore, it is equipped with advanced features such
as
Envelope Follower and polyphonic VCO Sweep. It is a compact guitar
synthesizer especially suitable for live performance.
"HEXA VCO and string vibrations them ~lves duet by using
pitch shift''
~R-300 is equipped with a PITCH SHIFT tunction capable of master
tuning, which is tuning the pitch of the HEXA VCO inside the unit
to the
pitch of the string vibrations of the guitar controller. You can
also preset the
pitch of the HEXA VCO (pitch A, pitch B) within a range of +1300
cent
and create a duet with the string vibrations of the same pitch.
It covers a
range from one octave below to one octave above the original note,
and by
using it along with the duet sound, you can get octave sounds,
3rd and 5th
harmo nies, and other chorus effects.
"Rise time and fall time'' The Rise Time and Fall Time
controls set on the
HEXA VCO shifts the pitch when switching between Pitch A and Pitch
B.
The portamento is 0 at minimum, and a longer portamento time can
be
obtained by turning the knob fowards maximum. To get a bending
effect,
set the Rise Time and Fall Time at a high level. When gliding,
set Pitch A
(B) a half note away from the normal sound and change the switch
to
"unlatch".
"String selector" Numbers 1 to 6 on the panel refers
to the six strings. Only
the strings turned "ON'' will produce a VCO sound. You can
enjoy solo
work by turning on the higher strings and emphasize the high tone
qualities,
or for bass work, turn on the lower strings. You can also enjoy
mixing it
with the guitar sound, using the Balance control on the guitar
controller.
Used with the G-505 ,G-808, G-303 or G-202
