The PM-16 is a pad Midi interface to convert trigger signals from
a pad
controller (or other triggers) into midi messages. 16 trigger
inputs are
included, each of which can be assigned a midi note number to
be
transmitted to a midi drum machine, sampler, or other midi device.
Up to 64
presets can be stored, each with midi note, threshold, dynamics
curve, gate
time, dynamics pitch, bend depth, layer (2 sounds) & midi
patch program
number. The main patch select buttons are large & rubberized
and can be
switched by sticks.
Roland also showed a new version of their trigger pads. The
PD-11 is a
new bass drum pad ($199.50) and PD-21 ($99.50)/ PD-31 ($119.50)
snare
- tom pads. All pads feature a special floating construction in
which the
hitting pad is mounted on a floating suspension system. The PD-31
has 4
hitting areas on the pad with 4 trigger outputs.
