The Oberheim Model 700 Stereo Power Amplifier
is the latest addition to the Oberheim Electronics, Inc. line
of professional electronic musical
instruments and peripherals. Designed to provide accurate reproduction
of all musical sources,
the Model 700 is the perfect choice for the demanding role of
live keyboard and P.A. sound
reinforcement.
Never before has there been an amplifier which delivers the power,
performance, and fool proof
operation as found in the Model 700. Rated at 200 watts RMS per
channel into 8 ohms and 350
watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, the Model 700 can provide musical
peaks of 250 and
440 watts respectively. Total harmonic distortion is rated at
.1% at 20 Hz to 20 kHz at full
rated output. The 700's power bandwidth goes well beyond the audio
range, extending from
10 Hz to 40 kHz.
The Model 700 has been extensively tested under exceedingly adverse
conditions to demonstrate
it's· superior protection circuitry. The full output of
one channel (150 volts peak-to-peak) was fed
directly into the other channel's input, proving that the low
level input circuits could not be harmed
by high voltage inputs. In other tests, with both channels driven
to clipping, all types of loads were
applied, ranging from open and short circuits to highly reactive
loads, without causing any harm to
the amplifier.
This testing indicates that almost any signal source may be connected
to the Model 700's inputs, or
any load to it's output stage, with virtually no possibility of
damage to the unit. Since the amplifier
uses no VI limiter, no distortion results when driving highly
reactive loads.
The Model 700's advanced thermal protection circuitry automatically
decreases the output level if
the amplifier becomes too hot, rather than shutting the output
down entirely as do most other amplifiers.
This can mean non-interrupted performance even under the most
adverse of operating conditions.
Because of this unique thermal protection circuitry and generous
heat dissipation fins, the Model 700
operates without the need for noise-producing fans, making it
an ideal choice for studio amplification
as well as live performance uses.
Other features of the Model 700 include electronically delayed
turn-on and rapid turn-off circuitry to
prevent power-up transients from reaching the speakers; high strength
anodized aluminum construction
for extreme durability without excessive weight; red LED channel
indicators for true indication of the
onset of clipping; and a unique fold-out chassis design which
allows easy access to all components for
quick serviceability.
The Oberheim Model 700 Stereo Power Amplifier is just what you'd
expect from Oberheim Electronics:
A high performance, professional musical product that will give
you
troublefree performance for years to come.
