POLY 61
5 octave keyboard synthesizer. Programmable analog synthesizer
with 2
osc. per voice.
Made in 1982.

The Poly 61M's built-in MIDI jacks let you send and receive
high speed "messages" for
control of (1) pitch and note timing (key data), (2) selected
program number, and (3)
release (damper pedal). In place of VCOs, the Poly-61M features
two advanced-design
Digital Controlled Oscillators (DCOs) per voice, for excellent
pitch stability. DCO-2 can
be programmed for different pitch intervals above DCO-1, creating
rich harmonic textures
and special effects.
A popular feature of the Korg Polysix and Mono/Poly, Chord
Memory lets you play
parallel harmonies using only one key and thick Unison soloing
and bass sounds. You
can also select the "Hold" mode for continuous sound
after you take your hands off the
keyboard. The full-function Arpeggiator memorizes and sequences
both notes and chords,
and can be synchronized with an external sequencer or rhythm machine.
The Poly-61M
can store and instantly recall 64 different programmed sounds.
Programmed sounds can
be edited and rearranged in any order.
The "Program Up" function lets you use a foot switch
to advance to the next sound
without ever taking your hands off the keyboard. The 8-second
Tape Interface allows
many sets of programs to be rapidly Saved and Loaded from tape,
creating an infinite
"Sound Library". The large alphanumeric display gives
plenty of information about
operations.
