The M1R-EX is an expanded ROM version of the original M1R with
double the
waveform memory, matching the ROM memory of Korgs T series instruments.
This expanded ROM memory is also available in kit form for the
original M1 and
M1R for $395 including installation.
The Ml is a complete music workstation, featuring the built-in
Al Synthesis
system for full digital generation and processing of the sound
throughout the
four sections of the instrument: from the high-quality PCM sound
source, to the
Variable Digital Filter (VDF) and Variable Digital Amplifier (VDA),
and onto the
dual-system digital multi-effects. Three different performance
modes, multi,
layer and split, are included. A full 100 memory spaces are available
for storing
combinations, which, among various other possibilities, let you
change the
sound according to key velocity.
Like the 100 sound programs that are used to make up these
combinations, all
can be stored to the Ml's internal memory. The Ml is also equipped
with a
Multi-Mode function which lets you assign a maximum of eight programs
to
different sections of the keyboard and effectively play them as
eight separate
synthesizers. The built-in 8-track sequencer stores up to 10 songs
and 100
patterns, and has a maximum memory capacity of 7,700 notes (15,400
notes
with RAM card).
A performance editor function allows you to perform a whole
host of
sophisticated editing operations from the front panel, such as
punch in/ out and
copying of patterns. Moreover, the Ml has a special User Scale
feature, which
you can use to create your original tunings, by changing the pitch
of the 12 tones
of C to B over a range of +/ - 50 cents, around the basic equal
temperament
scale. The sounds of folk instruments with exotic tunings can
be effectively and
naturally produced with the use of this function. An optional
ROM expansion
kit, the EXK-Ml, makes it possible to double the amount of PCM
waveform
memory to 4 Megawords (8 Megabytes).
